FREDERIK BUETTGEN
born 1981, began his career with a two-year stint assisting clemens kerkhoff in duesseldorf. in this time first and foremost he shot people and portraits. after two years studying communication design and photography at the muthesius school of arts in kiel in the class of dirk reinartz, he returned to duesseldorf for six years of training as an assistant and digital operator. since that he has explored both art photography and advertising, still life and people, editorially and commercially. since 2009 he has worked independently as a photographer in duesseldorf. the passion he has for classic photography in combination with digital retouching and composing give his pictures a cinematic quality in terms of lighting, expression, colour and contrast.
he enjoys to be present at the idea process right from the beginning and likes doing his own retouching.
